Basic Internet Series

The Alameda Free Library is pleased to present our Basic Introduction to the Internet series in the computer lab at the main library. This event will be held at the Main Library, 1550 Oak St. from 6-7:30pm on February 6, 20, and 27th. All ages are welcome to this series. All sessions will be hosted with an open-question format with a lecture.

The first of this series, Introduction to the Internet Browser, to be held on February 6th from 6-7:30pm, will be an all-all-ages workshop for those needing help with their internet practices. An introduction to the Internet, including getting connected, using a web browser, and navigating web pages. Learn how to find information online using search engines and subject directories.

The second of this series, Email Basics, to be held on February 20th will introduce the basic functions within email to communicate and share attachments and photos. No particular prerequisite for this, as all email services are generally the same, but a gmail account is preferred. We will also cover signing up for an account in this class if needed.

The third of this series, Internet Security, to be held on February 27th and will include an overview of how to stay ahead of today’s internet security standards, such as creating safe passwords and remembering them.
