Computer Basics: File Management

The Alameda Free Library is pleased to present a workshop series in November covering a very important factor of basic computing, file management and organization. The first of the two workshops will consist of hands-on experience moving files on the lab computers. The second will introduce organizing files over the digital cloud. This series will consist of two separate sessions. The first, will be held on November 6, 2019 at 6p-7:30p and will be taught on the Windows 7 stations in the Computer Lab. Feel free to bring your own personal station to learn on as well. The second workshop will take place on November 13, 2019 and will require a Google Account, as it will consist of organizing files on the cloud, possibly over personal devices. We’ll cover the basics of file management, creating/naming folders and files, moving them, as well as finding them on our computers and within the cloud.  Each session will be in a lecture/open question format, and based on your personal devices. Feel free to bring in your personal computers to the first workshop or even your personal devices to the second. A Google Account (and knowledge of password) will be required for the second class.

Please join us. Registration is requested as there are limited spots in the computer lab. You may register for this event by stopping by the Circulation Desk and signing up or contacting Trina in the computer lab.
