The Alameda Free Library is pleased to present a workshop series in March covering basic computer usage. This events will be held at the Main Library, 1550 Oak St., from 6-7:30pm on March 13th, March 20th, and March 27th in the upstairs computer lab. This series will be for all ages. In the March 13th workshop, Operating System I, students can expect to learn the basic functions of a computer, from using the keyboard, mouse, as well as navigating the computer. No computer experience necessary for this session. The March 20th workshop, Operating System II, will focus on file navigation on the computer. Students can bring a USB thumb drive to practice saving and opening files during this session. We’ll lightly touch upon Microsoft Word. The workshop on March 27th, From the Desktop to your Pocket, will take concepts learned in the first two sessions and apply it to handheld devices and will act as an introduction to relating desktop usage to phone/tablet usage. Students will be free to bring their devices to this session. Each session will be in a lecture/open question format, and based on Windows 7 PC Systems. Feel free to bring personal devices if you need help.

Please join us. Registration is requested as there are limited slots in the computer lab. You may register for this event by stopping by the Circulation Desk and signing up.
