We are living in a high-anxiety world, where peace seems like an elusive commodity. Yet, waiting within you is a 'portable paradise,' a lush garden of personal peace and joy that you can visit at will, simply by sitting in meditation. Dr. Andrew Vidich will discuss the most practical methods of controlling and calming the mind for better meditations and other health benefits. He will provide instructions followed by a short meditation sitting. There will be time for a Q&A, as well.
Dr. Andrew Vidich is an author, educator, consultant, and international speaker who has been meditating for over 40 years. He has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Religion at Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY and at Iona College in New Rochelle, where he taught courses in the nature and experience of religion, meditation, death and dying and Islamic studies. He is the co-founder of The Interfaith Council of New York and member of World Parliament of Religions Task Force on War, Violence and Hate Speech.
