The Alameda Free Library is pleased to present a workshop in October covering ways to stay safe online. This event will introduce and cover the basics of creating safe passwords, managing them on your personal devices, to knowing how to trust things that may pop up during your internet experience. This event will be held at the Main Library Computer Lab on October 16 from 6-7:30pm. This series will be for all ages. In this class, students can expect to cover the basics of knowing what a bad internet experience might look like and how someone might know a link is unsafe or fraudulent- as well as ways to protect ourselves from internet scams. We will also cover the basics of cloud password managers such as 1Password and LastPass. Each session will be in a lecture/open question format, and based on Windows 7 PC Systems. Prerequisites for the sessions would be knowing one’s email address and password.

Please join us. Registration is requested as there are limited slots in the computer lab. You may register for this event by stopping by the Circulation Desk and signing up or contacting Trina in the computer lab.
