Lawyers in the Library is a program of Legal Access Alameda, the pro bono arm of the Alameda County Bar Association.
Lawyers in the Library program is a free consultation and referral program staffed by volunteer attorneys. The attorneys can answer questions on most legal topics or they can refer you to a lawyer who may be able to help.
While libraries are closed, we are offering phone appointments instead of in-person meetings. Sign up for a free fifteen-minute consultation with a volunteer attorney with this program. Lawyers can provide guidance on various legal topics, as well as referrals. Please fill out the form here and a library staff member will be in touch to schedule a one-on-one phone appointment.
For those without computer access, please drop by the Main Library to pick up a printed form. Current hours to pick up the forms are Monday 2-7pm and Tuesday-Friday 12-5pm. For more information and to sign up for the program please see the event listing on our Events Calendar or call us at (510) 747-7740 during the hours listed above. Please note, phones will not be answered outside of these times.
