STEAM Wednesdays

Wednesdays are S.T.E.A.M Wednesdays at the Main Library!

Each week we will be leading a different S.T.E.A.M focused program for ages 8+ focusing on topics like Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

For the month of January we will be hosting the following activities:

• January 7, 2026 | Illumination with LEGO®: Learn about sources of light that travel directly to our eyes to help us see. This is a family program!
• January 14, 2026 | Candle Carousels: Explore the principals of heat energy by making a candle carousel. One per family. This is a family program!
• January 21, 2026 | Build The Tallest Tower: Join us to build the tallest tower with simple supplies like spaghetti sticks and marshmallows! This is a family program!
• January 28, 2026 | Vision Boards: Thinking about what 2026 will bring for you? Join us and start to create your very own vision board. This is a family program!

 

For the month of February we will be hosting the following activities:

• February 4, 2026 | Animal Structures with LEGO®: Build an elephant with a movable trunk and learn about ways elephants can use their trunks. This is a family program!
• February 11, 2026 | Extract DNA from Strawberries: In this activity we will learn about DNA and how Henrietta Lacks’ cells changed medical science. This is a family program!
• February 18, 2026 | Building with Straws & Pipe Cleaners: Can you build the strongest structure with these simple building supplies? This is a family program!
• February 25, 2026 | Kumihimo Friendship Bracelets: Kumihimo is a Japanese style of braided cord on a small loom. Learn to make the loom & bracelet. This is a family program!

 

Activities start at 4pm on Wednesdays and registration is required!
