This event is part of our education and workshop series "Is Free Speech a Core Value of Democracy?"
A representative from the local chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) will give a presentation on our community's collective definition of free speech; the role of free speech in democracy; challenges to free speech today and the role of power imbalances in those challenges.
There will be ample room for open discussion and Q&A; no registration is required.
The Library is grateful to the League of Women Voters- Alameda for their partnership on this series.
