Toy Swap 2026

Join us for a fun and eco-friendly Toy Swap at the Main Library!

The Children’s Department will be hosting a Toy Swap event on Saturday, January 24 from 2:00 - 4:00pm at the Main Library, 1550 Oak St. Alameda, CA 94501.  

Leading up to the event the Main Library will be collecting clean, gently used, re-giftable toys from January 11 to January 23. The library will not be accepting stuffed animals. There is a maximum of up to 2 donated toys per child. Families will receive a ticket for the event when they drop off the toys.

How it Works

Starting Sunday, January 11th, bring your clean, gently used, re-giftable toys to the Main Library and exchange them for an entry ticket to the Toy Swap Event on Saturday, January 24th.
Toys will be accepted at the Children's Desk at the Main Library. Entry tickets will be required for the Toy Swap Event on January 24th.

Toy Questions:

• The Library is collecting toys for children ages 0-12. Limit 2 toys per child.
• No stuffed animals, please!
• You will get a ticket for clean, gently used, re-giftable toys.
• Toy Drop Off will run from January 11th through January 23rd.

What to Expect on Saturday, January 24th!

• Doors open at 2 PM.
• Toys will be grouped by age ranges.
• You can exchange your tickets for toys.
• Staff members will be available to assist you with any questions.
• Non-tickets guest may enter the room after 3 PM.
