Toy Swap 2025

Join us for a fun and eco-friendly Toy Swap at the library!

The Alameda Free Library Children’s Department will be hosting a Toy Swap event on Monday, February 3rd from 6:00 - 7:30pm at the Main Library, 1550 Oak St. Alameda, CA 94501.  

Leading up to the event the Main Library will be collecting clean, gently used, re-giftable toys from January 21st to February 2nd. The library will not be accepting stuffed animals. There is a maximum of up to 2 donated toys per child. Families will receive a ticket for the event when they drop off the toys.

How it Works

Starting January 21^st, bring your clean, gently used, re-giftable toys the Main Library and exchange them for a ticket for entry to the Toy Swap on February 3rd.
Toys will be accepted at the Children's Reference Desk. Entry tickets will be required for the Toy Swap on February 3rd -- please drop off your toys early so that we can sort them for the Swap!

Toy Questions:

• The Library is collecting toys for children ages 0-12. Limit 2 toys per child.
• No stuffed animals, please!
• You will get a ticket for clean, gently used, re-giftable toys.
• Toy Drop Off will run from January 21st through February 2nd

What to Expect on Monday, February 3rd!

• Doors open at 6 PM.
• Toys will be grouped by age ranges.
• You can exchange your tickets for toys.
• Staff members will be available to assist you with any questions.
