Edible Garden Basics with UC Master Gardener

Edible Gardening With Alameda Free Library Inst.png

The Alameda Free Library invites you to an exciting virtual gardening program.

UC Master Gardener, Susan Fritz, will review the importance of selecting the planting site for sun/shade, improving and preparing your soil, watering, mulching, fertilizing, deciding what to plant and keeping pests at an acceptable level. Making the right decisions about all of these items will lead to a plentiful harvest! What are all of the essentials you need to know to be a successful vegetable gardener? Join our fun gardening event and find out.

Susan became a Master Gardener in May of 2014 and has led the Speaker’s Bureau for five of those six years. She enjoys teaching the public about gardening and how they can improve the methods they use to make them more sustainable.

The event will be hosted by the Alameda Free Library via Zoom and requires you to register online before the event to receive the event link. After the presentation, we will have time for a brief Q&A should you have any questions.

Please register here to join us on June 26th at 11 am PST. We look forward to seeing you. You can contact Jenny Gillette at refdesk@alamedaca.gov with any questions you may have.
