A compelling, unforgettable story of human nature, human existence, and
the constant struggle against the oppression of tyranny. The drama spans
from 1900 to 1945 focusing on the rise of fascism in Italy through the
experiences of two childhood friends, and how these events over time shape
the destinies of both main characters played by: Robert De Niro and Gérard
Depardieu. Co-starring Dominique Sanda, Francesca Bertini, Laura Betti,
Stefania Casini, Sterling Hayden, Donald Sutherland, and Burt Lancaster.
